It Begins

Let me be straightforward. I have never blogged before and never thought I would be. I don't imagine I will be any good at it. But here I am, attempting to articulate my thoughts and share my life with you.

In roughly two months I pick up my life and move to Nicaragua. I am more than excited to go to the place I have always felt was "home". However, two months means that I am realizing how much I am going to miss Omaha, my family, and my friends. I have twenty two years of memories invested here. That will be hard to leave behind.

Here's a snapshot of what the next two months look like as I prepare to leave:
  • Lists - What to pack, what still needs to be done, what supplies to buy for my classroom...
  • Paperwork - Working on Nicaraguan residency and details with my sending organization, Commission to Every Nation
  • Raising support
  • Enjoying time with my family and friends
  • Summer reading!
  • Soaking in last minute advice about how to survive my first year of teaching
  • Attending a three day CTEN orientation in Texas in June

Love you all! I'll do my best to keep you updated.

Laura
